Help us make every moment count
Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely.
Helen & Douglas House is a homely place for local children, living with life-limiting and terminal conditions, and their families. We provide care in a warm, loving environment. Our hospice is filled with laughter, whilst also being peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.
More children than ever are living with life‑limiting illnesses and by 2030, the number of children needing palliative care could rise by 30% yet statutory funding covers only 11% of what’s needed. As a local children’s hospice charity, we must raise £6 million each year to continue this vital work, with 86% of our funding coming from supporters.
That’s why corporate support like yours is crucial in helping Helen & Douglas House children and their families live every moment to the full.

Meet some of our charity partners
Mercedes- AMG PETRONAS F1 Team
“While we race across the globe, our local community is incredibly important to us. We’re incredibly proud to support Helen & Douglas House and have seen first‑hand the difference they make.”
The Mercedes F1 Team
We are so proud to be entering the second year of our partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, the eight-time Formula One World Champions.
From football matches to karting nights, marathons and even skydives – the team has thrown themselves (sometimes literally!) into raising vital funds for Helen & Douglas House. But it’s not just fundraising. Mercedes F1 have created unforgettable moments for our families, bringing their show car to the hospice and even giving some of our children the once‑in‑a‑lifetime chance to meet Kimi and George at the British Grand Prix.
Their generosity has reached every corner of our community. They’ve donated raffle prizes, arranged gifts for the children at the hospice and visited our teenagers at a Network Saturday event where they spent time chatting with our young people, hearing their stories and then pulled off the ultimate wow‑moment by showing them real driver suits, helmets, and car parts.

Help care for local children, like Nathan
Nathan was born in 2011 and was diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome shortly after birth. This rare genetic condition is severely life-limiting and causes medical complications including low muscle tone, insatiable appetite, severe balance issues and narcolepsy. This means that Nathan requires 24/7 care.
Despite these challenges, Nathan’s life, and medical journey, has been filled with joy, resilience and unwavering support from his family and the dedicated team at Helen & Douglas House.
“Helen & Douglas House were there from day one. Explaining things when I couldn’t understand, for a hug when we were low, for pain management after his long stay in intensive care and reassurance when we had to make hard decisions. From food packages to a shoulder to cry on, they are there every step of the way. I couldn’t do it without them.”
Jenny – Nathan’s Mum
£2,000

£15,000
could fund the staffing costs of a bed at the hospice for a month, meaning local terminally ill children can stay at Helen & Douglas House for respite or end-of-life care at different times of the year.
